Cat tracking possible? | iotosphere – Internet of Things

Cat as in meows. I see so many signs and listings about missing cats, are there collars that can be tracked?

If the collar has a cell phone based device the missing cat can be tracked if it comes near a cell tower. Add LoRa and the cat can be tracked using direction finding.

Everything has limits but having both cellular and LoRa would make it easy to locate.

Add to that is battery life question. Long life lithium you see as a button in key FOBs and PCs is one way, how long will it last? Chargeable battery that can be recharged via solar and/or body heat would be best as cat owners neglect to change batteries.
